This is perfect for entry-level data rolesLearners will collect, organise and study data over 18 months. By the end of the course, they will understand data structures, database systems and how to do a range of important analyses that will benefit your business.

Learners will get these qualifications:

  • BCS Certificate in Data Analysis Tools
  • BCS Diploma in Data Analysis Concepts
  • Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship

A Data Analyst Apprentice will empower and allow your Business Insight team to grow, in addition to:

  • Being a big help in day to day running of our business as an apprentice will learn on the job, they can assist with your team’s workload.

What the apprenticeship will cover?

Here are the topics we’ll cover during the apprenticeship:

  • Introduction to Data Analysis
  • Data Gathering, Analysis, Cleansing, Visualisation
  • Excel 2016, SQL Workbench
  • Dashboards, Tableau and PowerBi
  • Rapid Miner, R, Regression & Clustering
  • Big Data
  • Advanced analytics theories and methods

What’s needed to get started

Your apprentice must:

  • have five GCSE grades C – A* (4-9) or equivalent, including English and Maths
  • be in a full-time relevant role, where the contract of employment must meet the duration of the apprenticeship
  • have A-Levels in ICT/Computing/STEM, or
  • have an Apprenticeship in a similar subject (this must be at least the level below the planned programme), or
  • have a level 3 qualification in ICT or Maths, or
  • have a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits), or
  • have 1-2 years’ experience working within Data Analytics

Working in partnership with Guernsey

As part of the SMART Guernsey Programme, there are a number of fully funded places available for delivery of the Data Analyst Apprenticeship. The partnership is committed to supporting the island’s economic development, creating significant and new opportunities for on-island businesses, entrepreneurs, employees and students.

The Economic Development Programme is part of the SMART Guernsey work, and is being delivered by Blenheim Chalcot and two of its portfolio companies, Hive Learning and Avado, together in partnership with Digital Guernsey. The Economic Development Programme is made up of a number of projects, one of which is this programme of Apprenticeships and is being led by Avado, as described above.
